Lead a team, coordinate and deliver best practice communications

Currently we are in need of a Senior Communications Manager who will be responsible for managing all internal and external communications for the company ensuring its messages are consistent. The purpose of this role will be to lead a team providing the local senior leadership team and capital investment programs in the region with dedicated communications and engagement support; coordinate and deliver best practice communications and engagement appropriate to the relevant program; ensure that the most appropriate communication solutions are kept to the highest possible standards.

OUR PERFECT CANDIDATE

  • Has proven experience as a communications professional with a good understanding of the wider communication context;
  • Proven track record of working in a complex environment and leading a team;
  • Demonstrable experience of managing communications in a delivery environment;
  • Experience in delivering PR to support public consultation;
  • Evidence of effective stakeholder relationship management, influencing & negotiation skills, and ability to demonstrate effective people management skills.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing an integrated communications strategy for the company incorporating PR, Marketing and Online;
  • Implementing communication plans to increase brand awareness and recognition for the company;
  • Developing relationships with key media to secure and grow media coverage both online and offline;
  • Writing press releases for local and national media;
  • Adapting press releases for international syndication ensuring stories translated to suit differing international markets;
  • Monitoring press stories relating to the company and its brand and maximizing opportunities for positive PR and relativizing any negative PR;
  • Collating and analysing current communications and messages and ensuring consistency;
  • Developing and leading the company’s internal communication strategy;
  • Communicating brand to internal customers and stakeholders;
  • Overseeing the annual communications budget and ensuring its use is fully maximized.
